Simply put, America and Texas need reliable energy to meet our growing needs, today and for future generations. The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that the demand for electricity in the United States will increase 24 percent by 2035.

Natural gas is a reliable, affordable energy source found in vast abundance all over the United States, especially here in Texas, which produces almost a third of our nation’s natural gas.

Texas natural gas is an economic engine for our state. It’s a cleaner option for Texas power generation and cars, trucks and buses.  It’s helping our country reduce its dependence on foreign oil. And it’s an essential partner with renewable energy sources to ensure the availability of around-the-clock, year-round reliable power.

It’s time we put natural gas – an abundant, accessible domestic resource – to greater use to generate affordable, cleaner power and to provide transportation solutions that will allow us all to enjoy cleaner air.
